OF RAMADAN,HARI MERDEKA AND CORPS DAY

This month of August seems special with these three significant events. I still recall in the good old days of being a GPO at a gun position, taking on fasting with the boys simply because it was too much of a hassle to organise meals separately. It was nothing religious, or to prove leadership or anything else. It was simply an exercise to go with the flow. I must admit that it was an unique experience. Somehow, I looked forward to "buka puasa", and the meal became more meaningful. I suppose it was a good lesson to appreciate simple things in life. To my muslim brothers at arms, I wish you all "Selamat Berpuasa".
Having come down with a bad flu, I was unable to keep my date with the Corps Day Celebration in Gemas. Belated Happy Birthday Gunners! May we walk tall and proud of our traditions and spirit of "Tangkas, Tegas, Saksama".
Now, coming to the 31st Of August, our Hari Merdeka stands for the ultimate sacrifice of nationhood. I wish that it never gets politicised and all of us, as children, will respect the existence of our "Mother" Malaysia and give her due recognition. I cannot tolerate any other view, for whatever reason.
So, SELAMAT HARI MERDEKA MALAYSIA! May we be continued to be blessed. Let's fly the Jalur Gemilang with joy and honour.

  1. Gentlemen,

I hope someone will write about the Artillery Corps anniversary. It'd be something to remember as it was the first time it was celebrated at Gemas. I missed the occasion as I was overseas.

    Warmest regards to all.
